In 2016, on the coast of the gray Caspian Sea, the PrideBJJJ sports academy was launched under the guidance of Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Marco Mashado and his friend and companion Gamid Dadaev.
The interest in the visiting coach prompted many children from the neighborhood to sign up and try a sport they had never even heard of before.

Marco started training jiu-jitsu at the age of 12 and earned his black belt at the age of 23. Winning 10 times in the São Paulo state championship from white belt to black belt. Marco also won in the Brazilian national team, black belt, and 2 times runner-up in the Brazilian national championship in purple and brown belts.

MARCO MACHADO is the head coach of PrideBJJ and the developer of his own training methodology. He was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil, where he studied under the best in the sport such as Fabio Gurgel, Fernando Terre and Marcus Barbosa.
By the age of 30, Marco realized it was time to teach around the world
Two-time winner of the American National Division (Open Class), Phoenix and VegasOpen; Naga World Champion and 3rd place at the World Championships; All of this from 2010-2013 in the Adult Black Belt division. By the age of 30, Marco realized it was time to teach around the world. From 2013-2015. He was in Beijing, Phuket, Kuala Lumpur, Indonesia, Bishkek and Moscow. Teaching UFC fighters in China and Phuket and spreading Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Asia and Southeast Asia. During this period he won 3 times at the PanAsian, BerlinOpen and UWW in St. Petersburg (black belt division). In 2016 he and his friend and companion Gamid Dadaev opened the most successful program for children in Russia: Pride BJJ.
After graduating from college.
Won 3rd place in Blue Belt at the 1999 Teenage World Championship at the legendary TijucaTenis Club (all IBBJF / CBJJ Federations tournaments - the most challenging and prestigious platform in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu). After graduating college and realizing that Jiu Jitsu was the lifestyle he wanted to pursue for the rest of his life, he moved to California in 2010 to compete and train.
